I would like to begin by thanking everyone that came out to help us with this year’s event. I can’t be everywhere at once, and each of you help us take care of our anglers and run a smooth event! I would especially like to thank my wife for getting up at 3:30 am and trekking out to the lake with me the past three years to help put this on!

I also would like to take a moment to thank all of our sponsors and donors for this year’s event. The tournament cannot be a success without you!

We had a total of 18 teams entered in the event, and 16 that fished on Saturday. Our turnout this year was half of last year’s event. The weather forecast combined with sharing the date with AMBUCS really hurt our turnout this year.
The weather also seemed to hurt the fishing for the guys on Saturday. The morning started out cool, breezy from the North, with heavy mist. Some heavy storms rolled across the lake mid-morning, with a few guys encountering hail. A second round of heavy weather rolled in about 45 minutes before weigh-in forcing most of the guys to come in early.
1st Place and a $1,000 check went to Jerry Tanksley and Jeremy Adams with a sack of 15.01 lbs.
2nd Place and a $150 check went to Chris Lewis and Keith Jones with a sack of 12.68 lbs.
Big Bass and a $300 check went to Mike Hunter and Ricky Bolton at 5.92 lbs.
Overall it was a tough day on the water for the guys. I appreciate all of you coming out and making it back to weigh-in for some nice BBQ and prize drawings. I hope you all enjoyed the event despite the uncooperative weather!
Due to the rain we didn’t get many pictures this year, but below are a couple from the event:
Winning sack by Jerry and Jeremy!
Where we planned to photo everyone before the heavens opened up on us!!!!
And our improvised weigh-in location. We moved and used the truck to block the wind off the scales as it started gusting right at weigh-in!
Serving up and enjoying some of that fine Carter’s BBQ after a cold wet day on the water!
Giving out some nice Loomis Rods donated by Plano.
Perhaps our most popular giveaway after the rods…
