I would like to begin by thanking everyone that came out to help us with this year’s event. I can’t be everywhere at once, and each of you help us take care of our anglers and run a smooth event! I would especially like to thank my wife for getting up at 3:30 am and trekking out to the lake with me the past three years to help put this on!

We had a total of 18 teams entered in the event, and 16 that fished on Saturday. Our turnout this year was half of last year’s event. The weather forecast combined with sharing the date with AMBUCS really hurt our turnout this year.
The weather also seemed to hurt the fishing for the guys on Saturday. The morning started out cool, breezy from the North, with heavy mist. Some heavy storms rolled across the lake mid-morning, with a few guys encountering hail. A second round of heavy weather rolled in about 45 minutes before weigh-in forcing most of the guys to come in early.
1st Place and a $1,000 check went to Jerry Tanksley and Jeremy Adams with a sack of 15.01 lbs.
2nd Place and a $150 check went to Chris Lewis and Keith Jones with a sack of 12.68 lbs.
Big Bass and a $300 check went to Mike Hunter and Ricky Bolton at 5.92 lbs.
Overall it was a tough day on the water for the guys. I appreciate all of you coming out and making it back to weigh-in for some nice BBQ and prize drawings. I hope you all enjoyed the event despite the uncooperative weather!
